What's left behind the scenes

  • This film was actually the first sequel to be shot, but it was released only after “Blood Money from Texas” was completed.
  • In the film, Ambrose Bierce sees himself in visions being lined up against a wall by a group of Mexican soldiers and shot. Before this, he asks for the sack to be removed from his head so he can see the faces of those who are shooting him. It is known that on January 11, 1914, one of the officers of Pancho Villa's rebel army reported on “some old gringo, executed against the walls of the fortress.”
