What's left behind the scenes

  • Torrance High School, where filming took place, would later be featured in "Not Another Teen Movie." It also appeared as Sunnydale High in the television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and as a high school in "Beverly Hills, 90210."
  • The film features the song "Kiss Me" by the pop group Sixpence None the Richer.
  • Sarah Michelle Gellar, who would later marry actor Freddie Prinze Jr., played a cameo role in the film: in the cafeteria scene, the main character's brother Simon offers her freshly ground pepper.
