What's left behind the scenes

  • Filming took place from April 2007 in Budapest, Los Angeles, New York, England, and Scotland.
  • Patrick Dempsey said in one interview that a scene was filmed where he found himself locked in a locker room naked. However, the scene was cut to avoid a rating of 'over 13'.
  • 'The Bridegroom's Friend' is the last film in which the legendary Sidney Pollack appeared.
  • Dounvegan Castle on the Isle of Skye 'played' the role of Eilean Donan Castle. This castle is considered the oldest surviving inhabited settlement in northern Scotland and remains the headquarters of the famed Clan MacLeod.
  • Approximately 12,000 people permanently reside on the island. During the five days of filming, they were joined by 250 crew members, 25 actors, and 300 extras.
  • Dempsey learned to juggle plates while performing tricks on the street.
  • CGI technology was used to de-age Patrick in scenes set 10 years before the main events.
  • Patrick Dempsey revealed in an interview that a scene was filmed in which he is locked naked in a locker room. However, the scene was cut to avoid a rating of “over 13.”
  • "The Wedding Date" is the last film in which the legendary Sydney Pollack appeared.
