What's left behind the scenes

  • The tuxedo worn by Jackie Chan in the role of Jimmy Tong was purchased by Andrew Panton in 2002.
  • During filming in Toronto, the lead actors Jackie Chan and Jennifer Love Hewitt requested that a webcam be installed directly on the set for direct communication with fans.
  • The supposedly high-tech sniper rifle shown in the film is actually an air rifle from Steyr Mannlicher, designed for shooting competitions. No attempts were made to alter its appearance.
  • Jackie Chan was initially unsure about the feasibility of combining special effects and real stunts in this project, but he was attracted by the prospect of working with DreamWorks (he was very eager to meet its founder, Steven Spielberg). Chan discovered that the approach to actor safety during stunts in the US was much stricter than he was used to. When he asked permission to repeat a particular stunt, he was often refused.
  • When the protagonist examines Clark Devlin's (played by Jason Isaacs) notebook in search of “Walter Straider,” he finds the phone numbers of Claudia Schiffer, General Norman Schwarzkopf, Broadway musical composer Stephen Sondheim, and businessman George M. Steinbrenner III. All the phone numbers are incorrect, sparing the subscribers from those wishing to dial them.
