What's left behind the scenes
- Mark Oldred played the role of a Russian mafia boss in the film, and when his workplace found out (he taught in lower grades at one of Hong Kong's schools), Oldred was immediately fired. After a long legal battle, the school administration was ordered to pay Oldred over 11,000 Hong Kong dollars for breach of contract. However, this verdict resolved the case (and not in Oldred’s favor) regarding his claim for approximately $79,000 in compensation for wrongful dismissal.
- According to Maggie Q, she disliked the film's script so much that she flatly refused to star in it. The actress turned to the production company “Media Asia,” with which she was contractually obligated, but was told that she had no choice but to appear in the film. Q agreed, but on the condition that significant changes be made to the script. Her conditions were accepted.
- As Maggie Q stated, filming started so quickly that she didn't even have time to train in martial arts. She requested a stunt double for the fight scenes, but director Tony Chin refused, stating that he wanted her face to be visible in literally all scenes. Q had to agree. She was very scared during the filming of the fight scenes, but to her great surprise, there were no injuries.
