What's left behind the scenes

  • The scoreboard in one of the scenes features the following categories: Girls of the 1980s; Songs About Sex; Black Michael Jackson; White Michael Jackson; Christian Rock; Hairy Bands; Songs from TV; Reggae Time; Chill Rock; The Judds Duo; Famous Duets; Overplayed Black Eyed Peas; Puppet Songs; Songs Killed by the "Losers" TV Show; Party-Starting Anthems; Ugly Vocalists.
  • The only two categories from the scoreboard used in the film are "Songs About Sex" and "Girls of the 1980s."
  • During the vocal competition, Esther Dean sings the song S & M, which she co-wrote.
  • In the vocal competition scene, one of the categories on the scoreboard is "Songs Killed by the "Losers" TV Show." Anna Camp played a role in one episode of the "Losers" series (2009).
  • Despite what Anna Kendrick's character claims in the film, the word "vader" does not mean "father" in German. However, it does translate to "father" from Dutch. Both words – "vader" in Dutch and "vater" in German – are pronounced with an 'a' sound instead of the 'e' sound heard in the film. In the German version of the film, this was changed, and Kendrick says that "vader" means "father" in Dutch.
  • Anna Kendrick recounted during "The Late Show with David Letterman" that she learned her song for the audition ("You're Going to Miss Me When I'm Gone") from an internet video where it was performed with a plastic cup. When the producers learned this fact, they decided to include this scene in the film, especially since Kendrick already knew how to perform it.
  • When Beca (Anna Kendrick) first enters the campus radio station, a voice announces "95.7 WBUJ" and the slogan "Music for the independent mind." In reality, this is the slogan of 88.9 WERS, the Emerson College radio station.
  • Adam Devine, who plays Bumper, accidentally hit the camera operator with one of the burritos he was throwing from the bus during filming.
  • During the a cappella group party scene on the right, you can see Chloe (Brittany Snow) kissing a guy who was with her in the shower.
  • During the shower scene, a recording microphone is visible; this moment also appeared in the trailer.
  • In the final number of the Barden Bellas, when the girls line up, Aubrey has loose hair in one of the shots, although she only lets it down after the verse ends.
  • The film "Pitch Perfect" is an adaptation of a book by American author Mickey Rapkin.
