What's left behind the scenes

  • Kurt Russell's suit had a cooling system built in (a closed system of tubes through which cold water circulated). Kelly Preston's suit, in turn, fit so tightly to the body that a cooling system simply wouldn't fit inside.
  • Initially, it was planned that Linda Carter's character would wear gold bracelets – as a reminder to viewers of her role as Wonder Woman, which she played in the television series of the same name from the 1970s. The owner of the rights to the Wonder Woman character, Warner Bros., objected to the bracelets appearing in a film by Walt Disney Pictures, so the idea had to be abandoned.
  • It was originally intended to cast an athletic actor in the role of Impulse, but Will Harris impressed the assistant director in charge of casting so much during the audition that the role was rewritten specifically for Harris.
  • Gwen Grayson owes her first and last name to characters from two different franchises – Gwen Stacy from Marvel's Spider-Man comics and Dick Grayson from the DC Comics universe.
  • Cloris Leachman starred in the television series "Wonder Woman" (1975) as Hippolyta, the mother of the main character played by Lynda Carter.
  • Initially, the heroine's costume, as worn by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, was purple and gold, but during final editing, the colors were changed to black and gold.
  • During filming, a romantic relationship developed between Michael Angarano and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, as well as between Steven Strait and Danielle Panabaker. Detailed information about this can be found in the DVD edition of the film.
  • Dave Foley, who plays Mr. Boy, and Kevin McDonald, who plays Mr. Bushka, once performed in the Canadian sketch comedy troupe "The Kids in the Hall" (1988-1994).
  • Cloris Leachman starred in the television series “Wonder Woman” (1975) as Hippolyta, the mother of the main character played by Lynda Carter.
  • Dave Foley, who plays Mr. Boy, and Kevin McDonald, who portrays Mr. Bashki, once performed with the Canadian sketch comedy troupe "The Joyful Tablet" (1988-1994).
