What's left behind the scenes
- The inscription on the back of the dean's robe is a reference to Terry Pratchett's (1948-2015) novel "Reaper Man" (1994) from the Discworld series, which also features Death with assistants.
- After filming a cameo role, Terry Pratchett was stopped at customs at an Australian airport. He had a large box of plastic teeth with him, which he had taken from the set. Pratchett explained the situation to the customs officers and advised them to start worrying when they came across a box labeled 'Death'.
- Writer Terry Pratchett appeared at the end of the film as a toy maker visited by Death.
