What's left behind the scenes
- Patrick Jane’s car is a Citroën DS.
- According to the script, CBI headquarters is located in the California town of Sacramento, but location shooting there was only carried out for two days. Most of the filming took place on studio sets or in the vicinity of Los Angeles.
- The title of each episode up to the ninth episode of the sixth season (excluding the very first, i.e., the “pilot” episode) contains the words “red,” “bloody,” or other words relating to the color red, as a reference to Red John. After 6x08, the concept changed. Now, the title features any color other than red, as Red John’s story is finished.
- During the work on the fifth season of the series, Amanda Righetti (who played Grace Van Pelt) was pregnant. This was not part of the plot, so she was shown mostly in the dark or sitting at a computer.
