- The film is based on Neil Gaiman's children's novella "Coraline" (2002).
- In the film, Coraline's father is wearing Monkeybone slippers. "Monkeybone" is a film directed by Henry Selick.
- It is the longest stop-motion animated film ever made. It is also the first stop-motion animated film created in 3D.
- 450 people worked on the creation of this film, including animators, designers, and technicians.
- The profile on the dollar given as a tip belongs to the director.
- A total of 28 Coraline dolls were made, the largest of which reaches 25 cm in height.
- The snow was made from super glue and baking soda.
- Filming took place in an indoor space of approximately 13,000 square meters.
- All objects and characters in Coraline were 3D printed. Three 3D printers worked non-stop for over eighteen months.
- Mr. Bobinsky wears a medal for his work in the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster.
- In a theater scene in the "Other World," one of the elderly actresses portrays Venus against a backdrop grotesquely copied from Sandro Botticelli's famous painting "The Birth of Venus."
