- Since its release on December 11, 2009, the game 'Angry Birds' by the Finnish company Rovio has been downloaded over 3 billion times in all its versions and on all platforms.
- Unlike their prototypes in the game, the characters in the film have a kind of hands.
- At the time of its release, the film was the most expensive in the history of Finnish cinema. The previous record – $9.7 million – belonged to the action film 'Big Game' (Jalmari Helander, 2014).
- At the beginning of the film, Red asks two birds how many stars out of three they would give a holiday pie. Three stars is the maximum score a user can achieve in the "Angry Birds" games.
- While voicing Leonard, Bill Hader parodied the voice of his high school football coach.
- Like the members of the comedy duo "Smosh", who gained internet fame, Toby Turner (actor, comedian, musician, and vlogger) voiced one of the film's characters (Perry), but this character was cut from the theatrical release.
- In the Dutch version of the film, Chuck is dubbed by Enzo Knol, the first vlogger in the Netherlands to reach one million subscribers on YouTube.

- In the game, the eagle flies in when the user throws a huge golden egg. In the film, he flies in when all the eggs are stolen. They are all connected to each other, so it looks like one big egg.
- Stella, the Pink Bird, is the only one who doesn't use her special abilities when attacking Piggy Island.
