What's left behind the scenes

  • Originally, Burt Reynolds was supposed to play Phil Beddoe.
  • The orangutan featured in the film became agitated for some reason while the main character, played by Clint Eastwood, was driving a truck. The animal was calmed only by the trainer’s voice, which came through a radio mounted on the dashboard.
