What's left behind the scenes
- The original script, titled “Let’s Be Friends,” was purchased by a film studio but remained untouched for eleven years.
- In the film, Sydney names his dog Anwar Sadat, explaining that it looks exactly like the former Egyptian president. This caused significant outrage from the daughter of the deceased Egyptian politician, who, considering it an insult to his memory, filed a lawsuit against the filmmakers.
- J.K. Simmons plays the father of Paul Rudd's character in the film, even though he is only 14 years older than the actor.
- Lou Ferrigno, whose estate the protagonist is trying to sell, is a bodybuilder who twice won Mr. Universe and is known for his role as the Hulk, which he has played and voiced in television series since 1978.
- Members of the American rock band OK Go appear on screen at the very end of the film, during the credits, as the wedding band.
