What's left behind the scenes

  • David Goyer wrote the screenplay while a student at the University of Southern California. It was the first screenplay he sold.
  • David S. Goyer wrote the screenplay while a student at the University of Southern California. It was the first screenplay he sold.
  • The film, originally titled "Dusted," was made by Cannon Pictures, which also funded the production. However, during post-production, the company went bankrupt, and the film came under the ownership of MGM, which changed the title to "Death Warrant." The film's release was delayed because of a dispute over who – Cannon Films or MGM\United Artists – would handle its distribution. Judging by the cover of an old Australian video cassette of the film and some trailers released in international markets, Cannon was ultimately responsible.
