What's left behind the scenes

  • The filming of the stunts in the movie was plagued by mishaps. To begin with, Chow Yun-Fat nearly died during an explosion near a mansion when the pyrotechnicians used too much explosives. The actor's hair was singed and he was thrown back a considerable distance by the blast wave. The film shows his genuine reaction to what happened. In the warehouse scene, Ronnie Yu stood in for him as a stunt double. He managed to injure his back. Leslie Cheung was replaced by a stunt double in the boat jump scene, who broke his leg during filming.
