What's left behind the scenes
- This is the sixth film about Godzilla, the third about Rodan, and the second about Ghidorah, as well as the first to feature the Xiliens.
- In the United States, this film was released under the titles: “Invasion of Space Monster”, “Big War of Space Monster”, and “Monster Zero”.
- This is the first film where Godzilla and Rodan are initially presented as positive heroes.
- In Japan, 3,780,000 viewers watched the film in the year of its release.
- Some minor scenes were cut from the American version of the film: conversations of aliens in the language of Planet X, Rodan's takeoff over the hill, and a scene where Godzilla jumps for joy after defeating King Ghidorah. The musical score was also slightly altered.
- In the American version of the film, the Xilians offer people a cure not only for cancer, but for all incurable diseases on Earth.
- This is the first film where Godzilla and Rodan are initially portrayed as positive heroes.
