What's left behind the scenes

  • The Italian restaurant that Annie visits every Friday in search of her parents is called “Domani,” which translates to “Tomorrow” from Italian—a reference to the most famous song from the musical.
  • At the beginning of the film, on the classroom blackboard among the names of presidents, you can notice the names of Thomas Meehan, the author of the original novel on which this film is based, and Charles Strouse, the composer who wrote the music for the original musical.
  • At the end of 2014, Sony Pictures studio was the victim of a hacker attack, resulting in confidential corporate information becoming publicly available, as well as several unreleased but completed films. Thus, the film “Annie” (2014) appeared on the Internet in DVD quality even before its theatrical release.
  • As a tribute to the character of Daddy Warbucks, whom Jamie Foxx plays in the remake (Benjamin Stacks), this character in the film is actually bald and wears a wig to conceal it.
  • When the girls are looking at the form given to them by the inspector, Mia asks what a Social Security Number is, even though the form only displays the abbreviation “SSN”.
  • When Annie jumps onto a rock in the water at the beginning of one of the songs, you can notice that it's the second rock, but the camera quickly changes the angle, showing Annie jumping onto the first rock.
  • When Stax has his first lunch with Annie, the water level in his glass changes abruptly several times with each cut.
  • When Annie and Grace are leaving 'Domani', Grace puts her chalk on a box of cannoli, but a second later it's in her hand.
  • During the reprise of the song 'Tomorrow', Annie, Grace, and Will run holding hands, then a shot shows Grace running a few steps behind and not holding Annie’s hand, and then, after a cut, they are all holding hands again.
  • When Mr. Stax and the rest of the group chase the car Annie is in, they cross the George Washington Bridge, which connects New York and New Jersey. After the car leaves the bridge and enters New Jersey, it's pursued by New York police cars, not New Jersey police cars. Furthermore, after leaving the bridge, the characters immediately enter Liberty State Park, which is more than 30 kilometers to the south.
  • When the heroes are flying in a helicopter, they talk to each other without using headsets, which is absolutely impossible.
  • When Stax and Annie are roasting marshmallows, a marshmallow on Stax's stick suddenly disappears, and then reappears in the next frame.
  • In the scene where William Stacks takes Annie and her friends to the movies, the actors in the film they are watching are named Andrea Alvin and Simon Goodspeed, which is a reference to the original Broadway production. Andrea McArdle was the first Annie on Broadway, and the premiere of the production starring her took place at the Alvin Theatre. "Goodspeed" is the name of the theater where the musical "Annie" premiered before it went to Broadway.
