What's left behind the scenes

  • During filming, Aniston received a strong blow to the jaw. The incident occurred while filming a fight scene involving actor John Hawkes and rapper Dante Smith, better known as Mos Def. According to the plot, Aniston tries to break up the fighting men. However, during the shooting, one of the actors accidentally hit the actress in the jaw. The blow was so strong that Aniston simply collapsed to the floor.
  • In 1986, 20th Century Fox took on this project. Diane Keaton was supposed to play the role of Mickey Dawson. But then the project was frozen, as it was considered too similar to the film 'Ruthless People' (1986).
  • The scene in the Bahamas features 'Noodle Long and Soft' golf balls. These balls only appeared 25 years later, and did not exist at the time the film's events take place.
  • The film opens stating that the action takes place in Detroit in 1978, however, throughout the film, characters are reading newspapers dated 1977.
