What's left behind the scenes

  • The Chinese title of the film is "Five Lucky Stars." It was chosen due to its similarity to "Seven Lucky Stars." That was the name of a theater troupe in which some of the actors featured in the film performed as children.
  • Jackie Chan's character has noticeably different hairstyles in different scenes. This happened because Chan was simultaneously filming the action movie "Project A" (Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, 1983).
  • The film is based on the novel of the same name by Alexander Chakovsky.
