What's left behind the scenes

  • The killer consistently uses quotes, such as “I can get no satisfaction” from The Rolling Stones’ song “Satisfaction” and “Come on baby, light my fire” from The Doors’ song “Light My Fire,” while pursuing his victims.
  • The police officers in the film have the surnames of famous killers from their respective films: Krueger and Voorhees.
  • Many of the film's characters are named after heroes from other horror films. This isn't limited to the police officers Krueger and Voorhees (from the “Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Friday the 13th” franchises, respectively), but Courtney also bears the surname Bates (after the “Bates Motel” series), and the neighbors’ family name was changed from Deveraux to Craven in honor of director Wes Craven (1939-2015).
  • Heidi Kozak noticed that her denim shorts were getting shorter with each passing day. It turned out that after the end of the filming day, the costume designer would pull out a few threads from them to shorten them. Upon learning this, the actress bought herself new shorts.
