What's left behind the scenes

  • Prior to the premiere screening of the computer-animated film “The Peanuts Movie” produced by “Blue Sky Studios” on November 6, 2015, audiences in theaters were shown a clip from the upcoming film “Ice Age: Collision Course” titled “Cosmic Scrat-astrophe”. On the same day, a poster for the film was also shown. As for the clip shown in theaters, it appeared on the official “YouTube” page of “20th Century Fox” three days later.
  • The fourth project of “Blue Sky Studio” after the films “Ice Age” (Chris Wedge and Carlos Saldanha, 2002), “Epic” (Chris Wedge, 2013) and “The Peanuts Movie” (Steve Martino, 2015), for which the music was not composed by John Powell.
  • Jesse Tyler Ferguson's first animated film role.
  • The final film in the 'Ice Age' franchise.
  • The longest film in the 'Ice Age' franchise.
  • Having appeared in a cameo role in the previous film in the franchise, Buck once again becomes one of the central characters.
  • Scrat's storyline is a parody of the science fiction films 'Alien' (1979), 'Prometheus' (2012) and 'The Martian' (2015) by Ridley Scott, but especially of Alfonso Cuarón's 'Gravity' (2013). The creators used the same music in the trailers and hinted at the death of one of the characters.
