- Filming began after Jay Chou and model Hannah Quinlivan’s wedding in London.
- “Now You See Me 2” became the sixth joint project for Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine. They had previously starred together in “Freedom: Our Story” and the films “Batman Begins” (2005), “The Dark Knight” (2008), “The Dark Knight Rises” (2012), and “Now You See Me” (2013).
- The announcement of the third film in the franchise came more than a year before the premiere of John M. Chu's "Now You See Me 2".
