What's left behind the scenes
- Filming took place in November 1961 in Dalarna, near Orsa Finnmark.
- They filmed relatively few scenes each day. This was due to the fact that the November days were short, and secondly, the actor Gunnar Björnstrand was feeling unwell and couldn't work for long periods.
