What's left behind the scenes
- The announcement of the film's production was made at a fashion show where Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson walked the runway as Zoolander and Hansel, respectively.
- Eddie Murphy expressed interest in participating in the filming. He even came up with a pose and gaze combination that he called "Black Iron."
- The first trailer for "Zoolander 2" was shown before a screening of "Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation".
- According to the plot, Zoolander and Hansel operate in Europe.
- Jonah Hill was considered for one of the roles in the film, but was unable to participate in the shooting.
- "Zoolander 2" was released fifteen years after the first film.
- Filming took place at the Italian studio "Cinecittà".
- The screenplay was entrusted to Justin Theroux, who previously worked with Ben Stiller on the script for "Tropic Thunder" (2008). About a month later, Stiller confirmed he would be assisting with the screenplay. "We are currently working on the script for the film. We only recently started.
