- The first teaser gained 116.4 million views in the first 24 hours and set a record for an animated film teaser.
- The civilization of the tribe shown in the film is inspired by the civilization of the Sami people, who live in Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia.
- Young Iduna asks young Agnarr what he is reading, and hears in reply: “Something by a Dane.” The author of 'The Snow Queen,' the fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875), was Danish.
- Olaf claims that turtles "breathe through their butts." This refers to a real phenomenon known as "cloacal respiration." It has been observed in some species of turtles – for example, painted turtles, alligator snapping turtles, and Fitzroy River turtles.
- In the original film *Frozen* (2013), Elsa is never shown without shoes, so the animators didn't bother drawing her toes. Toes had to be added when working on the sequel.
- When Anna and Elsa are shown playing as children, one of the snow figures has Olaf's body but Marshmallow's face, who was voiced by Paul Briggs. This is a reference to the first film, in which Marshmallow was originally supposed to appear as a giant Olaf, but the decision was later made to make him an ice golem.
- The symbol of the large snowflake seems somewhat off because it lacks "hexagonal symmetry." In reality, it is the Icelandic runic compass vegvísir – an Icelandic magical staff designed to help its owner find their way in harsh weather.
- In the forest scene, when Kristoff sings the song "Lost in the Woods" and thinks about proposing to Anna, there is a reference to the opening scene from Queen's music video "Bohemian Rhapsody," where the four band members stand cross-shaped.
