What's left behind the scenes

  • The second of four films starring Adam Sandler to be distributed by Netflix. The first was the comedy western "The Ridiculous 6" (Frank Coraci, 2015).
  • Adam Sandler plays the role of FBI agent Max Kessler. A New York accountant named Max Kessler, who bears a resemblance to Sandler and met one of the actor's assistants, received an invitation to the premiere where he met Sandler.
  • The roles of Sally and Daisy, the daughters of car dealership owner Lou, are played by Sadie and Sunny Sandler, daughters of Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler's wife, Jackie Sandler, and nephew, Jared Sandler, also appear in the film.
  • A certain Vicky Valentine is present in the federal bank's database. That was the name of the girl that Adam Sandler's character was in love with in Frank Coraci's comedy "The Waterboy" (1998).
  • Filming took place in the city of Savannah, Georgia.
  • On the nameplates at the prom in the beginning of the film, the school is named Central High. That is actually the name of the school that Adam Sandler attended as a child in Manchester, New Hampshire.
  • Previously, some scenes of the series "Mad Dogs" (2015-2016) were filmed at the villa in Puerto Rico where filming took place.
  • In Judd Apatow's comedy "Funny People" (2009), Adam Sandler played a character involved in filming the movie "Re-Do".
  • Filming in Jacksonville, Florida, did not take place.
  • This is the third joint project of Adam Sandler and Steven Brill after the comedies "Little Nicky" and "Mr. Deeds".
  • Steven Brill starred alongside Adam Sandler in "Going Overboard" (Valerie Breiman, 1989), "The Wedding Singer" (Frank Coraci, 1998), and "Mr. Deeds" (Steven Brill, 2002).
  • This is the third film in Adam Sandler's acting career where his character dies from an incurable disease, but is ultimately cured by the end of the film. He first played such roles in the comedies "Click" (Frank Coraci, 2006) and "Funny People" (Judd Apatow, 2009).
  • While Max is being tortured, the letters "A" and "C" can be seen on the barrels in the background – the initials of actor Adam Sandler.
  • In the federal bank’s database there is a Vicky Valencourt. That was the name of the girl that Adam Sandler’s character was in love with in Frank Coraci’s comedy “Big Daddy” (1998).
  • In Judd Apatow’s comedy “Funny People” (2009), Adam Sandler played a character involved in filming “You Don't Mess with the Zohan.”
  • While Max is being tortured, the letters “A” and “S” can be seen on the barrels in the background – the initials of actor Adam Sandler.
