What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on the work «Border Outpost» (2001) by Vladimir Rutkovsky.
- A fortress from the time of Kievan Rus' was specially built for the filming of the film.
- The costume team designed over one and a half hundred exclusive costumes, all of which were handmade. For example, the Shaman’s costume required approximately 450 meters of fabric, which was cut and braided into strands, with each strand dyed separately in different shades.
- Ilya Muromets wields two swords. One weighs 15 kg and is 1.5 meters long. The hero also wears a rare 13th-century buckle from a private collection of antiquities.
