What's left behind the scenes

  • Before filming began, Jamie Lee Curtis trained for several months. Together with Jermaine Jackson, the actress recorded a music video to support the film.
  • The film flopped at the box office, which negatively impacted John Travolta's career, but he still didn't regret it because he became very close friends with the other actors involved and had the chance to work with James Bridges (1936-1993) again.
  • Constructing the sets for the Rolling Stone magazine office cost $500,000, and they precisely replicated the original – down to the editorial equipment, furniture, and decorations, including photographs by Richard Avedon (1923-2004), David Bailey, and Bonnie Schiffman.
  • According to Cher, the film was shot in the same area where Rocky and Rusty Dennis once lived. Once, Cher was walking down the street with Eric Stoltz (both in makeup), and some old man shouted to Eric, "Hello!" Then the same old man said the following: "Very glad to see you, because there were rumors that you had died." He was so happy to meet them that neither Cher nor Stoltz had the courage to tell him that those weren't rumors.
