What's left behind the scenes

  • The film was first announced in 2014, and its release was initially planned for Christmas 2016. The project faced numerous challenges and difficulties, which led to the release date being postponed first to Independence Day in 2019, then to Christmas 2019, then to summer 2020, and finally to December 4, 2020. After that, due to the coronavirus epidemic, the release date had to be postponed again – to September 9, 2022. Thus, "Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva" became the film with the most release date changes in the history of Indian cinema.
