What's left behind the scenes

  • Steven Seagal was initially considered for the role of the main villain. Jean-Claude Van Damme also had a chance to get the part.
  • The film crew imposed a $20 fine if anyone's phone rang during filming. In February, the total amounted to $600. The money was donated to charity.
  • The sword Kenji fights with is a Yuan dynasty sword, traditional Chinese, while Lee fights with a katana – traditional Japanese weaponry.
  • Carter orders a Red Bull at the hotel. Energy drinks are illegal in France.
  • A week before the end of filming, Max von Sydow celebrated his 78th birthday right on the set.
  • When Carter and Lee arrive at the French embassy with Genevieve, you can notice that one of the minister's guards is the murdered driver Su Yang from the first installment of the franchise.
