What's left behind the scenes
- At one point, work on the film stalled due to a lack of funds for the daily application of complex tattoo designs. The lead actor, Jamie Bell (who played Bryon Widner), had to walk around for several days with 14 tattoos on his face and 39 on his body. According to Bell, the filmmakers and other actors involved in the film avoided him, and he even had to eat alone.
- Jamie Bell first spoke with Brian Widner about him portraying him on screen on August 12, 2017, i.e., on the day of the 'Unite the Right' march – a political rally of far-right forces in Charlottesville, Virginia. According to Bell, Widner soon interrupted the conversation, saying he wanted to check on Daryl Jenkins. (This referred to one of the political activists opposing the protesters in Virginia.)
- The film is dedicated to the memory of Ruben Monovitz (1922-2017), the Holocaust survivor grandfather of the film's director and screenwriter, Guy Nattiv.
