- The original title of the film translates to "Headhunters".
- The main part of the film was shot in the Portuguese district of Sotelo-Morišku.
- The hero's dwelling became an abandoned mill by a forest spring. And the climactic scene was filmed in an ancient underground reservoir dug inside a hill. It was flooded, so the filmmakers had to carry out full-scale irrigation work.
- Composer Nick Sul wrote music for the film under the impression of Andrei Tarkovsky's "Solaris." At the same time, the monster in the film has its own musical theme, the hero's daughter has her own, a separate track has been selected for moments of loneliness, and some passages are designed to change the audience's mood from frightened to sympathetic.
