What's left behind the scenes
- The film crew had only five candelabras available, so they had to constantly move them to the locations where filming was currently taking place.
- The costume designer created 17 different versions of Grace's wedding dress to show how events impact clothing.
- The lead actress, Samara Weaving, had to be taught to drive a car, or at least look like she was actually driving.
- Almost 200 names for fictional board games were suggested for the corresponding scene, but the legal department rejected all but 8 of them.
- Grace’s yellow sneakers had to be hand-painted, as the company no longer manufactures that model in yellow.
- Filming took place at Casa Loma—a Neo-Gothic castle from the early 20th century in Toronto, Canada. The castle is state-protected, so candles were prohibited and many pieces of furniture could not be touched.
- The nail that pierced Grace's hand was a product of computer technology.
