What's left behind the scenes
- All four of Til Schweiger's children appear on screen in minor roles. His twelve-year-old son, Valentin Florian Schweiger, plays young Ludo, his ten-year-old daughter, Luna Schweiger, plays young Anna, his nine-year-old daughter, Lili Schweiger, plays the girl with the cap, and his youngest daughter, five-year-old Emma Schweiger, plays Cheyenne Blue.
- Initially, the film received a mild rating of 6 in Germany (not recommended for children under 6 years old). However, numerous protests from parents who attended screenings with young children, supported by prominent public and political figures, forced a review of this decision. As a result, from February 1, 2008, after almost a month and a half of release, the film was given a rating of 12 (children under 12 are only allowed with parental supervision).
- Scenes featuring Jürgen Vogel and Nora Tschirner on the red carpet during the German Film Awards were filmed at the actual ceremony for this most prestigious award in German cinema, which took place on May 4, 2007, in Berlin.

- Director and lead actor Til Schweiger's career began with voice-over work for pornographic films. In one scene of the film, the main character watches and synchronously repeats the words of a pornographic film that was actually voiced by Til himself early in his career.
- In the scene where Anna and Jürgen are sitting on a bench by the lake, Jürgen offers to buy Anna an ice cream. This is followed by a discussion about what kind of ice cream Anna will choose. A similar conversation takes place between Nick and Leila in 'Barefoot on the pavement' (2005), which was also directed by Til Schweiger.
