What's left behind the scenes
- To help Ryan Gosling get into character, the doll was treated like a real person, as it was in the film itself. She had her own trailer where she was dressed, and she was only present on set when her scenes were being filmed.
- The scene where Lars and Bianca arrive at the house where the party was taking place was entirely improvised by Ryan Gosling (Lars). The moment when Lars performs CPR on the bear is also an improvisation.
- To avoid any suspicion of sexual activity with the doll, Bianca was custom-made without genitalia.
