What's left behind the scenes
- The Montenegrin family motto is a translation into French of a quote from Lovecraft: "That is not dead which eternal lies, and with strange aeons even death may die."
- According to the film's directors, Alexandre Bustillo (who also served as a screenwriter) and Julien Maury, the house was constructed on a massive grid and lowered to a depth of 9 meters in a 20-meter wide cistern. The directors themselves were prohibited from diving, monitoring the filming through 5-6 monitors, while 4 cameras captured the events.
- A dive to over 30 meters for 60 minutes with regular air tanks would have killed both divers – not to mention the ascent, which would have required stops on the way to the surface to avoid decompression sickness.
