What's left behind the scenes

  • The working title of the script was “Panser,” which translates from Danish as “armor,” “breastplate,” or “armament,” and in slang means cops. But the director and screenwriter Anders Elholm changed it to “Shorta” (which translates from Arabic as “police”).
  • During the scene where the characters, played by Jakob Loman and Issa Hattaab, meet in an underground parking garage, the inscription “jusqu'ici tout va bien” (which translates to “so far, so good”) is visible in the background. This is a reference to Mathieu Kassovitz’s crime drama “Hate” (1995).
  • Before the start of filming, Simon Sears and Jakob Loman, who play the main characters, underwent special training with technical advisor Dennis Petersen.
  • The film depicts the fictional ghetto of Svalegården.
  • The character played by Dan Boie has a tattoo on his chest that reads “Born to lose.” According to director and screenwriter Anders Elholm, this is a reference to Michael Mann’s action film “Heat” (1995).
  • Anders Elholm began working on the script in 2015. Initially, his friend Fredrik Louis Hviid was to be the film's director, but Elholm asked the producers to make him a co-director, and they agreed.
  • At the end of the film, the audience hears a radio conversation between director Anders Elholm and screenwriter Dennis Petersen, a former police officer hired for the project as a technical consultant.
