What's left behind the scenes
- The filmmakers used their fans – specifically, fans of the series “Spaced” (1999-2001), which also starred Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and was directed by Edgar Wright – as extras for the zombie roles.
- The film's initial slogan was: “A romantic comedy. With zombies.”
- Zombie extras received £1 per day of filming.
- The film is included in Quentin Tarantino’s top twenty films.
- The Italian restaurant Fulci, which Sean calls, is a reference to Italian horror film director Lucio Fulci.
- Filming took place in London from May to July 2003 and lasted 57 days, with at least part of it in the New Cross and Hornsey areas, after which the filmmakers moved to the Ealing Studios soundstage. The final scene in the shed was filmed on day 6, in the middle of another scene, in order to save the film's budget. Filming at the 'Winchester' pub took 4 days.
