What's left behind the scenes
- Ewan McGregor sings the song 'Round Are Way' by the British rock band Oasis. The actor was a passionate fan of the band while working on the film.
- A significant portion of the scenes featuring Timothy Olyphant’s character were cut during editing, but he later openly expressed admiration for the work of actress Holly Hunter. He admitted that several of his previous roles hadn't been very successful, and it was Hunter's focus on her work that convinced him not to abandon cinema.
- The scene in which Robert, played by Ewan McGregor, almost hit O'Reilly, played by Holly Hunter, lying on the road, was filmed in reverse and then "flipped" during post-production.
- At the end of the film, Gabriel states: “Amaratus pathum laborium,” which translates from Latin as “Love is hard work.”
