What's left behind the scenes
- The central plot of the film revolves around the story of the feat of pilots Oleg Peshkov and Konstantin Murakhtin: on November 24, 2015, during a combat sortie, their Su-24 was shot down by a Turkish fighter jet in northern Syria. Peshkov and Murakhtin ejected, but Peshkov was shot by terrorists while still in the air. They were all later eliminated, and the deceased pilot was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Russia. Konstantin Murakhtin, who survived, was awarded the Order of Courage.
- Filming took place at real military facilities in Syria, Crimea, and the Lipetsk Aviation Center.
