What's left behind the scenes
- One of the Sydney newspapers published an invitation for fans to "come to the port and see the fireworks with the Mighty Rangers themselves." Fans responded to the invitation. In reality, the filmmakers needed crowds for filming the final scene, and paying extras would have been a significant expense.
- To ensure the color of his tongue matched the color of his body in the image, Paul Freeman would fill his mouth with blackcurrant juice before filming, hold it there for a while, and then spit it out.
- Johnny Yong Bosch and Jason David Frank performed almost all the stunts themselves.
- While preparing for his role, Paul Freeman spent 7 hours in the makeup chair every morning.
- In the original script, the Mighty Rangers were supposed to fight monstrous creatures of Ivan. The costumes built for the monsters didn't work very well and looked even worse, so the script had to be rewritten to pit the Mighty Rangers against completely different monsters. However, the 'rejected' monster costumes were later repurposed. They were used in the 'Return of the Green Ranger' storyline in the television series.
- Each Ranger's costume weighed almost 20 kg. Filming often lasted 10 hours a day, and the actors worked in the costumes the entire time.
- The set with the Temple of Power built on it was the largest of all used in the making of the film. It featured a working waterfall, a pool, and huge doors that opened onto the Pyramid of Power. The set occupied the entire territory of Warner Roadshow Movie World Studios in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
- Wearing the Alpha 5 suit and helmet, actress Peta-Marie Rixon could see or hear nothing, and she had nothing to breathe with. A breathing tube, similar to those used to supply oxygen to aquariums, had to be run into the suit.
- Except for moments where the Power Rangers appear on screen without their helmets, their costumes are actually worn by stunt performers who are not credited.
