What's left behind the scenes
- Screenwriters Ben Zazov and Evan Turner pitched the film idea to Adam Devine back in 2016. He jotted down the essence of it in a notebook, then stuck it away somewhere and completely forgot about it for several years. Later, he found the notebook, read what was written in it, decided the idea was quite good, and immediately contacted the screenwriters, secretly fearing that the idea was already gone. Fortunately, his fears were unfounded.
- Adam Devine’s character uses the words “she left me roses on the stairs” as a password. This is a line from the 2000 song “All The Small Things” by the American punk band “Blink-182”.
- The idea of dressing his character as Shrek during the robbery scene belonged to Adam Devine himself. When it turned out that he had to start getting made up as Shrek at 5 a.m. (and the shooting lasted for several weeks), he bitterly regretted it.
- The character Adam Divine uses the phrase “she left me roses on the stairs” as a password. This is a line from the song “All The Small Things” (2000) by the American punk band “Blink-182”.
