• The film's original title was "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty." Kang the Conqueror from "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," played by Jonathan Majors, was intended to be the main villain. However, in 2023, Majors' former partner accused him of assault, leading to his dismissal in 2024. As a result, Marvel Studios replaced Kang with Victor von Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., and the film was retitled "Avengers: Doomsday."
• Robert Downey Jr. was previously considered for the role of Victor von Doom in the 2005 film "Fantastic Four."
• Due to working on this film, Robert Downey Jr. had to decline the role of Poseidon in Christopher Nolan's "Odyssey."
