Short description
After the brutal death of a friend, a group of friends find themselves in possession of a video-game called "Stay Alive," a blood-curdling true story of a 17th century noblewoman known as the Blood Countess. After playing the game when they know they shouldn't, however, the friends realize that once they die in the game — they die for real!
What's left behind the scenes
- Countess Elizabeth Báthory (1560-1614) is a historical figure who lived in the Kingdom of Hungary. In the film, she was relocated to New Orleans.
- The filmmakers planned to make an R-rated film (under 17 requires accompanying parent or guardian), but the studio insisted on a PG-13 rating (parents strongly cautioned). Later, 15 minutes of footage cut to avoid an R rating were restored in the director's cut.
