• Pamela Anderson had already been offered the role of Tanya in Peter Segal's comedy "Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult" (1994), but she had to decline the offer at the time due to being busy, and the role went to Anna Nicole Smith.
• The slogan "To Protect and Serve" on police car doors has been replaced with "Heat and Serve." This joke had already appeared in David Zucker's comedy "Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear" (1991).
• In 2018, David Zucker said that he, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker had written a script for a fourth film in the franchise, in which Frank Drebin's son, working as a security guard, gets in touch with the CIA and is given a mission. The film would have been a parody of the Jason Bourne and Mission: Impossible franchises, as well as James Bond films with Daniel Craig as agent 007. According to Zucker, there were some problems with the script, and nothing was heard about the project for a long time until Zucker finally learned about the franchise's reboot from the newspapers.
