What's left behind the scenes
- Work on the film was completed in 1999, and the film company “Universal Pictures” decided to conduct preliminary screenings to gauge audience reaction. The audience's reaction to the first version of the film was overwhelmingly negative, and the film was sent for rework (reshooting some scenes and making changes to the storyline). An alternate ending was filmed. Preliminary screenings of the new version followed, the reviews were still sharply negative, and only three years after filming ended was the film released in limited release.
- Filming took place in the USA and Canada from January 25 to May 23, 1999.
