What's left behind the scenes
- The scene in which Jeff Daniels, dressed in a surgeon's gown, plays golf in a hospital, and the scene where Patrick Swayze demonstrates karate moves, were filmed but did not make it into the final cut of the film.
- Cameo appearances by stars were not planned. Altman included them in the film at his own discretion. The stars were not given any written dialogue during filming.
- At the moment when Griffin takes an umbrella out of his trunk to remove the snake thrown into the car, the reflection of the operator is visible on the car.
