The working title of the film, “Rogue,” was changed to avoid confusion with another film of the same name. In Singapore, the film was titled “Rogue Assassin.”
Statham immediately confirmed his intention to participate in the project. This decision was influenced by the name of Jet Li, with whom Jason had worked previously.
Jet Li repeatedly stated in interviews that he was dissatisfied with both the film itself and the filming process. He also claimed that the film was “terrible” and spoke unflatteringly about director Phillip J. Atwell. According to the actor, he realized during filming that the film would receive average reviews and that box office receipts would not be impressive.
