Short description
In California, an old man grieves the loss of his wife and on the next day he also dies. However, the space soldier Eros and her mate Tanna use an electric device to resurrect them both and the strong Inspector Clay that was murdered by the couple. Their intention is not to conquest Earth but to stop mankind from developing the powerful bomb “Solobonite” that would threaten the universe. When the population of Hollywood and Washington DC sees flying saucers on the sky, a colonel, a police lieutenant, a commercial pilot, his wife and a policeman try to stop the aliens.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The film was funded by a Baptist church, and all the actors voluntarily became Baptists.
  • The film was originally supposed to be called “Grave Robbers from Outer Space,” but church representatives rejected this title and Voodoo had to come up with a new one.
  • Filming ended in 1956, but it took three years to find a distributor for the film.
  • The film was awarded the "Golden Turkey" award for worst film of all time.
  • Bela Lugosi died after about 10 minutes of the film had been shot, which led Edward D. Wood Jr. to use archive footage of Lugosi in his Dracula cape. A Lugosi double named Tom Mason was also introduced into the film to portray the famous actor.
  • During the filming of the movie, the cockpit was filmed as follows: the pilots sat on garden chairs, and a shower curtain was hung behind them. The flying saucers over the model of Hollywood are cheap toy models bought at a toy store.
  • A coffin belonging to Wood's friend, Amazing Criswell, was used in the film, and according to Criswell, he slept in that coffin.
