Short description
Norman Bates is declared sane and released from the facility in which he was being held, despite the complaints of Lila Loomis, sister of his most famous victim. Is he really cured, or will he kill again?
What's left behind the scenes
- The character of Meg Tilly uses the pseudonym Mary Samuels – the same name as Janet Leigh's character in the original film, but with a different spelling (Marie Samuels).
- The script for the final scene, in which Norman Bates strikes Mrs. Spool with a shovel, was given to the actors and crew only on the last day of filming. Only director Richard Franklin and screenwriter Tom Holland knew how it would all end at that point.
